In January 2024, the Trans Support organization orchestrated a comprehensive two-day Safety and Security training session for trans, non-binary individuals, and focal point persons in Kakamega County. This training was meticulously designed to encompass both physical and digital aspects of safety and security.
The primary goal of the training was to enhance the capacity and skills of trans and gender diverse individuals within Kakamega County. Specifically, the training aimed to empower participants to effectively identify, manage, and respond to incidents of violence and aggression. Moreover, it emphasized the importance of monitoring, documenting, and reporting such incidents to ensure accountability and promote safety within the community.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our esteemed partner organization, Usawa Jamii – Equal Society, for their invaluable contribution to this initiative. Their unwavering commitment and support have been instrumental in fostering a safer and more inclusive environment for trans and gender diverse individuals in Kakamega County.
Together, we remain steadfast in our dedication to promoting equality, safety, and empowerment for all members of our community.
